Our Whatpub team met a couple of week’s ago to discuss the recent concerns from our members regarding our GBG entries for 2025 and POTY and POTS voting.

We would like to make the following amendments of the above and ask you to vote for these in our September meeting [18th] at Message In a Bottle.

GBG ENTRIES

All members will have the opportunity to vote on 4 country pubs and 8 Town pubs, it is noted that votes should be according to the CAMRA guidelines, votes to be submitted must include member’s name and membership number.

NBSS scores will be looked at to check on the pubs listed/voted for, This will then form our GBG pubs for 2026.

POTY

From 2025 we will go back to nominating a Town pub, Country pub and overall winners, town and country will also have 2nd and 3rd places.

8 Country pubs and 12 Town pubs will be voted on, this should give us at least the 3 plus 3 places for Town and Country as a minimum to go forward to the judging stage.

Judging will be as per CAMRA guidelines, all pubs must be judged thus giving the Branch 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category and the overall winner.

POTS

To avoid some recent confusion, Any pub in the Branch area can be voted for [Including our GBG pubs} from voting for our Spring POTS 2025 onwards. The rule regarding having once won an award the Pub cannot be selected for the remainder of the year still stands.
