One of the hardest jobs I've ever had to do in my 3.5 years as Chair was to tell a new and enthusiastic landlady that before she took the pub over , the Branch had decided to remove the pub from the GBG2024. This was due to 2 new managers in just a couple of weeks and low beer scores.

Her reply will live with me forever, "I'll be in it next time don't worry" !

Just over a year later, with 2 pub of the season awards, 3rd place in our Pub of the year this year [remember we have over 100 establishments] and now she's kept her promise.
