Christmas Party
Cheers to Christmas at Historic Dambusters Pub
On Friday 5th December Members of the Campaign for Real Ale bounced into the award-winning Dambusters Inn in Scampton for their annual Christmas party. The historic pub, often a regional favorite in CAMRA's Pub of the Year awards, provided a fittingly atmospheric setting for the celebration.

Attendees enjoyed a wide selection of real ales, a signature feature of the pub which often boasts multiple handpumps, alongside a traditional Christmas meal. The event underscored the group's commitment to supporting genuine local pubs and traditional British brewing heritage, especially during the busy holiday season.

The Dambusters Inn, close to the former RAF Scampton base of the famous 617 Squadron, is known for its aviation memorabilia and wartime history, offering a unique backdrop for the festive gathering. Local CAMRA branch spokesperson Brian Calladine, Branch Secretary, commented, "It’s wonderful to celebrate at a pub that so perfectly blends great beer with a fantastic slice of local history. The Dambusters Inn always delivers an excellent pint and a truly warm atmosphere."

The successful gathering is seen as a strong endorsement of the pub's standing within the real ale community, reinforcing its reputation as a must-visit destination for enthusiasts. A raffle was held which raised £166.50 for the prostate cancer charity.
